External Data Requests

This policy for managing external data requests was approved by the CDCB Board of Directors on 07/18/2017.
The CDCB adopts the following policy on external data requests effective 08/01/2017.

  1. DEFINITIONS
    1. COLLABORATOR’S DATA
It constitutes CDCB’s input data received from data providers. The existing material license agreements between the CDCB and its data providers allow the CDCB to use the collaborator’s data for the purpose of genetic and genomic evaluations, as well as to publish general statistics on performance and management of dairy herds. No access to third parties is allowed unless authorized by the provider. Examples: pedigrees, test day and lactation records, reproductive records, calving traits records, type appraisals, genotypes and herd information.
    2. CDCB PRODUCTS
CDCB’s output data. Includes results generated by the CDCB in the processes of describing the cooperator database contents and carrying out genetic evaluations and genomic analyses. Appendix I presents the CDCB products in detail. Most results from genetic and genomic evaluations are made publicly available at CDCB’s webpage or shared with service users and the terms for their use are defined by CDCB’s End User Agreement (https://www.uscdcb.com/Main/terms.htm).
      • Restricted access rule: estimated SNP effects are not made available for external users.
