CDCB Accepted Embryo IDs¶
Embryo IDs¶
In July 2024, a new ID system for embryos was implemented to be included in the CDCB database. This allows collaborators to submit embryo genotypes without having to use a tag to ensure ID uniqueness. Collaborators should also assign and keep track of the unique 7-digit part of the ID to ensure uniqueness. When nominating/submitting pedigrees attached to these IDs, they must have MBC=6. Additionally, new IDs with MBC=6 must have this ID format. For pre-existing embryos, current IDs will continue to be accepted for modifications.
The ID must consist of: 2-letter breed code 3-btye Country Code EMB 2-letter code for the ID assigning organization 7 unique digits
ex. HOUSAEMBXX1234567
The XX 2-letter code for organizations submitting embryos should be requested from CDCB.
