Minimum requirements of health data for CDCB genetic evaluations¶
These constraints are imposed on data that has already been successfully submitted to the cooperator database.
- Species code = 0 (dairy cattle)
- Lactation numbers 1 to 5
- Days In Milk (DIM) 0 to 700
- Known sire
- Age at calving ≥ 18 months
- Herd-year must have at least 1 occurrence of event
- Herd-year must have at least 5 cows with lactation records
- Herd-year incidence must be less than population mean incidence + 3 standard deviations
- DIM requirements by event. Animals must meet this minimum DIM requirement; events must occur within this time frame
- Milk fever = 30 DIM
- Displaced abomasum = 60 DIM
- Ketosis = 60 DIM
- Mastitis = 210 DIM
- Metritis = 90 DIM
- Retained placenta = 10 DIM
- 1st lactation cows calving within the previous 14 months
