- QCS quality control error documentation
Introduction¶
This document is for DRPC use only. The aim is to provide a short and practical explanation of the consequences related to invalid codes (or decertification) for service providers, meters, or labs. Please note that these rules are linked to QCS activities and are enforced by CDCB on each of the files sent by Dairy Records Processing Centers (DRPC). These codes are typically provided in format 14 information but could result in the rejection of data provided in formats 4, 5, and 6. A daily email informs the DRPC of the herds whose data was affected.
Quality Certification (QC) codes¶
Quality Certification (QC) codes are included in format 14 in byte 113. Full information on the allowed codes, their description, and the consequences on data acceptance is provided in Ref.118
Field Service Affiliate (FSA) codes¶
Field Service Affiliate codes are included in format 14 in bytes 48-50. Invalid FSA codes and/or uncertified FSA result in the full rejection of lactation, health and breeding records (formats 4,5 and 6). Only the information provided in format 14 is stored. Please note that in the case of re-certification of the FSA (or the correction of the invalid code), the data provided will need to re-submit all the previously rejected format 4/5/6 records as they are not stored in the CDCB Cooperator database.

DHI component laboratory (LAB) codes¶
DHI component laboratory codes are included in format 14 in bytes 114-116. Invalid LAB codes and/or uncertified LABs result in the rejection of the milk component data in format 4. Milk weights and all event data (formats 5/6) are accepted and stored in the CDCB Cooperator database. Please note that in the case of re-certification of the LAB (or the correction of the invalid code), the format 4 data previously rejected will need to be re-submitted to include component data in the CDCB Cooperator database.

Milk Meter (MET) codes¶
Milk meter codes are included in format 14 in bytes 117-119. Invalid MET codes and/or uncertified METs result in the rejection of milk weights and component data in format 4. Only event data (formats 5/6) are accepted and stored in the CDCB Cooperator database. Please note that in the case of re-certification of the MET (or the correction of the invalid code), the format 4 data previously rejected will need to be re-submitted to include the milk data in the CDCB Cooperator database.
