Updating the Recipient Code¶
The authorization to share an animal’s genotype is reported in a Format1G at position 138 as the Recipient Code. The recipient code indicates to CDCB that the genotype can be shared in genotype exchange processes, such as the Exchange of Genotypes with Lactanet. The default for this field is blank (empty). The recipient code can be updated at any time and it will be applied in the next genotype exchange process.
To add a recipient code to a nomination/Nominate an animal with a recipient code via Format 1G, set the Recipient Code field at position 138 to the desired code, ex. "L" for Lactanet Exchange. This can also be done in WebConnect for individual nominations and bulk nominations by updating the value for the "Genotype Recipient Code" field.
To delete all recipient codes for a nomination, set the Recipient Code field at position 138 to the code to "D" in a Format 1G or set "Genotype Recipient Code" as "D" in the WebConnect Nomination table Edit tool and submit the change.
